Awful. You can find the better option for 70 euro per night. The room is dirty, the shower is weird. Few receptionists speak English. Never again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only good thing about the hotel is its location (close to Santa Maria railway station and main touristic attractions) The breakfast is terrible - they give two pieces of bread with melted butter and coffee (there were also cornflakes, but they are standing there for ages so I am not sure about their expiration date). The hotel itself is located on one floor (the second floor of the tiny building). NO ELEVATOR. Also, walls are very very thin so your hear EVERYTHING that is happening in other rooms. (One couple was.... how to say... making love from 12 am till 5 am, and we heard all the voices, which was very very AWFUL, so we couldn't sleep.) Please, STAY AWAY from this hotel if you don't want to receive bad memories of your vacation in such a wonderful city.
Hotel Fani is located at very convenient place. Room is big, comfortable and nice.Breakfast is ordinary and enough for moning feed.I think for such pay it is superb hotel.
There is little bit noisy in this hotel. But I think a lot of hotels at Firenze have thin walls.
The location was good - not too far from Train Station but also not too far from everything else.
The breakfast was a bit light on - there could have been a bit more food on offer. Also the walls are quite thin so I was woken up every morning at around 7 by the sound of the cappuccino machine.
Beware of dog and cat excrement on terrasse (rooms 4 and5) - you sholud NOT open the window - it stinks like hell!!!! Staff cleaned it up partly, but the smell remains.
Superb location near the Ponte Vechio and wonderful tower bar with views cross the city. Paying for the position and the tower as it is an old palazzo with little modern comforts. Bathroom and room basic but clean and everything there. Spending £160+ for a night I had hoped for a little luxury but centre of Florence!
Don't attempt to drive there partiularly with satnav as the one way streets have all been changed. It is in a pedestrian only zone which if your italian is not good will put you off. We ended up parking walking in and there garage service had to come and rescue us after two hours circling the city facing one way streets whenever satnav tried to guide us.
Friendly helpful staff - good location. Good decor and nice breakfast area.
One room had no mini bar which seemed to be a surprise to the staff. The breakfast was very disappointing and could have been far more interesting - unpleasant machine coffee could actually be replaced by excellent espresso but one had to ask as it wasn't offered. Wireless Internet in the rooms itself would also make life easier but at least it was free.
I liked its convenience.
I didn't like the fact that there were insufficient bedclothes. We were cold. The internet connection was pitiful and might as well be non existent.
We got an upgrade for our honeymoon, but the location was loud and the bathroom was cramped. I guess the couch was the upgrade. Tall rooms, but cramped. No views. It's quaint. The rooftop was amazing. The photos from up there were worth the purchase of the three night stay. Great to go up and have cocktails. Nice lounge area indoors too. Nice breakfast buffet. Beds were firm(standard in Italy we found). Staff not the most helpful, and then I left my jacket and it took weeks to get it. What a hastle. All in all, if you want to experience the city from a great location on a budget, this is your place. No major complaints. Certainly didn't blow us away. Very old and rustic feel. The bar and breakfast staff were great! A word to the wise, if you are driving, they will have a garage park your car, $26 a night. I suggest this over parking on your own.
Large room, private with modern facilities. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location - nice restaurant down the street and fantastic little wine bar across the road. Great experience - didn't want to leave and will definately be back.
By far the best experience was the tower that is over 1000 years old. You can see the entire city from the top. On a clear day it's a one of a kind experience you never forget. The hotel staff are actually better than the view. They do everything within their power to ensure you see the best posible sites. For me, it was a tour outside of the city to Chianti and Montepulciano that made my trip. The breakfast is also very good. Free wi-fi is a bonus.
The showers in the bathroom could use some updating. There was no tub or wall to prevent the water from flooding the floor.
Wonderful authentic medieval setting, great views from tower, very friendly staff, great beds, beautifully furnshed and appointed, sumptuous living room, good recommendations from staff, pretty breakfast room, amazing location walkable to everything, decent a/c in the room, fridge. We had a triple which worked out very well, lovely and comfortable daybed/couch for our teen.
1. It was 31 degrees during our late June stay and the shared spaces of the hotel (breakfast room, living room) were not air conditionned and were sweltering. In another season we would have greatly enjoyed them. OUr room a/c was fine except that it leaked. They were very apologetic but unable to fix it or change our room (we would not have wanted to change rooms, it was working fine and little drip drip drip into bucket not a big deal). It was a bit of a hassle to have work people coming in to check on it but it was the weekend so we understood. They offered us drink tickets for the tower bar to compensate, but didn't forewarn us that it would be closing early on our last day due to soccer game. 2. The wifi was very poor and aggravating! Not sure if this is the case throughout florence or just this hotel. (We got great wifi in venice).
